Israeli military spokesperson Ella Vavya, in a post on X, shared a map marking a building in red and warned residents to leave the area immediately, saying an attack would soon take place. She identified the structure as a Hezbollah facility and claimed the strike was a retaliation for Israeli unmanned aircraft used against Hezbollah assets.

Israel’s press has reported that the country is planning to establish a new “buffer zone” 2‑4 km deep in its southern border region. The initiative, referred to as the “gray line,” would begin at the border sector and create a safe area while reducing the military footprint after the destruction of tunnels on Ali‑et‑Tahir Mountain. The plan has not yet received approval from Tel Aviv authorities, with discussions reportedly ongoing. Israeli‑controlled territory extends roughly 10 km inside the United Nations‑defined Mavi Hat, covering about five percent of Lebanon.

Since the initial Israeli offensive in October 2023, the conflict has escalated into a large‑scale war, with more than 4,000 casualties and approximately 17,000 injured. Israel launched intensive air strikes on 2 March, occupying several southern Lebanese towns, while the Lebanese government reported that over one million people had been displaced. A ceasefire entered into force on 17 April, later extended multiple times, yet Israeli forces continue operations in the area, with no official statement yet released on recent casualties.
